Taxiing from Gate T4 this morningo at LEMD to rwy 36R, I got the following taxi instructions from LEMD ground: runway taxi 36R via I7,I8,I9, GATE4, G4, A10, A11, M11, A12, A13, A14, A17, A18, A19, A20, A21, A22, A23, A24, A25, A26, A27, A28, A29, A30, A31, A32, A33, Y3.  Wow!  Pretty much everyone on the ground got similar lengthy instructions. Is this true to what happens on Vatsim or the "real world"?

HI Todd, i must admit i was one of their first users for beyond atc, its still not 100% right but its a lot better than nothing and it is constantly imoproving.

Some of the European airports beyond ATC issue some elaborate taxi instructions; at the end of the day, as long as you trigger the final part before entering the runway, I would say let common sense prevail. I know in the past I have received instructions and thought what the hell are they doing and just did my own thing.

That's the beauty of it, it is there to help and assist where needed, and when the program gets it wrong, I just take over and do my own thing smiley

Many Thanks,

Mark.

Taxiing is weird at some airports

If you look at LEMD Charts its all the "waypoints" up taxiway A with departure from Y3

I would have been tempted to say "Taxi,Hold Y3, RWY36R via Taxiway A"

After 100's and 100's of hours of Vatsim controlling, i used to think why are you doing that, however, if you do as your told,as you should on Vatsim, it appears to me it works out ok.Well so far anyways!

Get the ATIS before you plan your departure and also before you get to your destination

I have been set up for a RNAV approach only to get "expect ILS RWYXX",so i have to change it
