So my sim crashes every time over a certain part of France without fail, it doesn't matter which direction I come from, but it's always the same area. So I tried reinstalling the FS base package again, which totally corrupted my install as the faults seem to point to a corrupt scenery tile.

Anyway, it's totally broken now. I'm left in that frustrated position of a complete delete and reinstall of EVERYTHING!!!
This hobby can be so rewarding and at the same time, so frustrating.

I was sitting there last night after the third sim crash at the same point in the flight with my head in my hands as the realisation kicked in, the only option is a full reinstall.

Oh, the joys.
From a frustrated Mark lol.

Many Thanks,

Mark.

On a slight bonus, I'm doing the first flight now, and it's no longer crashing over France. I just need to add all my addons back in and scenery, but after the reinstall, all the config was there for my hardware, so maybe it remained on the system somewhere.

Many Thanks,

Mark.

Really makes you wonder sometimes where that crash come from. Been there already and it really is a pain to get it all going again.

Well… I’ve finally had enough of the dreaded FS2020 crashes. Even after a full reinstall, it was the same story. So, I bit the bullet and made the leap to FS2024.

And wow—what a difference. I’m only three flights in, but this feels like a whole new sim. The visuals are stunning, the performance is smooth, and so far? Zero crashes. The default airports are a huge step up too—EGKK is the only addon I’ve dropped in so far, and even without it, the scenery looks fantastic.

The biggest game-changer for me though? Loading times. No more waiting around forever just to get airborne—FS2024 gets you in the cockpit fast, and it feels polished right out of the box.

Early impressions, but I have to say—I’m genuinely impressed. This finally feels like the sim we’ve been waiting for.

Many Thanks,

Mark.

Well, I looked at compatibility with what i have and decide to follow your path.

Impressive, but i am having one helluva time setting up my Thrustmaster TCA and other key bindings.

I'll get there one day,it's an age thing

You're not alone, mate. Key bindings I found easier to set through FSUIPC, not sure if that's the same now or not, but you're right, it is an age thing and patience, and also bloody printers for me just frustrating.

Things that should just work donnt and i dont have paitense for that rubbish any more, years ago i would sit therre for hours, nnot any more smiley

Good luck with the mappings, Andy.

Many Thanks,

Mark.
